Composite Fillings (Bonding)

What are they?

Composite “fillings” are a mixture of glass- or quartz-filler material and resin. They are most effective when used in small to mid-sized restorations that need to withstand moderate chewing pressure.

What are the benefits?

Composite fillings are highly durable and, because they are “bonded” or adhered to the tooth cavity, help the tooth structure resist fracture. And, because they typically require less tooth structure to be removed, they result in a smaller, more attractive tooth-colored filling.
